Belt alarm

Belt alarm

A wheelchair belt alarm is a type of belt that is also used as an alarm that helps keep patients safe while on the chair, the way it works is that when a patient attempted to disconnect the belt while sitting, the alarm will go off thereby alerting caregivers. So the activator is programmed to go off once the belt is unbuckled, a belt alarm works sort of like a car seat belt but instead of the seat belt light come on in the dashboard of a car, the alarm goes off instead and the caregivers are instantly alerted to the condition of the patient, this works well for patients who always attempted to get up when it is unsafe for them or those who can easily slide off a chair due to a medical condition. In a nutshell a belt is as important as it is in an automobile and they differ in their effectiveness, so make sure to pay attention to the features of any particular patient safety alarm.
