There are three types of the home care hospital bed but they all have three things in common and that is the fact that the head section, the leg section and the height of the bed can be raised or lowered based on patient requirement. They operate just like the hospital bed except that they are specifically made for home use. Information presented here explain the detailed specifications of the different type of home care hospital bed.
Hospital bed specifications explained,
Back Height:
This is the weight that can be carried by the hospital bed, this weight include the patient and any other thing that will be on the bed.
The manual home care hospital beds are the patient care beds that are lowered by the use of a crank connected to the pumps, the manually operated pumps in the hospital bed raises the head section, the leg section and also raise the height of the bed just like in the hospital. This type of beds are good for patients who has caregiver present at all times.
Semi electric hospital beds are those beds that operates the head section and the leg section by the use of an electric pump connected to a remote control, the height of the bed is adjusted (raised and lowered) by the use of a manual crank.
The full electric hospital bed is operated by the use of electric pumps that is connected to a remote control, the head section, leg section and the height adjustment of the bed is done by electric pumps that is why this is called the full electric.
The difference between the manual, semi electric and the full electric hospital bed, all raising and lowering action on the manual hospital beds are activated by a manual crank while in the semi electric bed, raising the head and leg section are by electric pump while a manual pump lower and raised the adjustable height of the bed. The full electric bed however is as it says all the pumps are electric so the head section, leg section and the adjustable height uses an electric pump.
Important point: Most full home care adjustable height electric bed also have an emergency manual crank to help lower the bed in the case of an emergency where there is not electric power.
Replacement parts for your homecare adjustable hospital beds, head section pumps, leg section pumps, height pumps, electric cable and remote controls. To order a part you should physically inspect the non functioning one so you can describe it to the dealer, for example not all remote control will work with your bed even though it is from the same manufacturer this is because some times the kind of plug and the number of pins in it is important. Of course calling the manufacturer directly with your serial number will get you the right one but occasionally the part may not be available from your manufacturer so you may have to get a replacement from another manufacturer this is where accurate description to the dealer will be helpful.
